This is the continuation of my last post, I thought it would be fun to show a point by point conversation with a typical atheist online. I am the "theist" and obviously my opponent is the "atheist".
Atheist: You're wrong because you attribute God to knowlage. To quote someone who's name I can't remember"there are two types of people in this world. foolish people who worship God, and intelligent people who don't"
Theist: Your are also wrong because, there are only two types of people in this world. foolish people who don't worship God, and intelligent people who do. Now I don't actually mean this, neither do you, I hope. We could both just make witty comments and/or assertions about something, take our group of followers and define whats right subjectively or, we could talk about objective truth. If you want this discussion to just be about how we feel subjectively, thats fine if there is no objective truth in your mind, then, I think we have just concluded your that your irrational tendency, that being, your sinful suppression of the objective truth of everything has taken over. But I am willing to bet you won't want that? No, I think that you really want to right, you want to justify your actions, no? You want christianity to be false, and stupid, and vain. You couldn't be happier if that was true could you?
So tell me, why is your wordview more true, why is the God of the bible not real? How can you rationally justify anything without using your irrational tendencies that destroy all knowledge? How can you live much less function without God and his word back of everything? Also how could I not attribute knowledge to God? If He is back of everything, which is the only possibility since the contrary is an impossiblity, God must be back of knowledge or else there would be no knowledge.
Atheist:Why is the bible not true?because I think everything that happened is a metaphore or else a term/event used to discribe (with the limited knowlage of greek people) how things happened in a way that would sum everything up in a simple 6 day creation.thats just not possible. it takes a baby nine months to go from fetus to baby. To create the whole universe in less then a week is laughableHow can I live? I live by my OWN word because I unlike...some walk with a backbone. I have my own moral code and my own beliefs and I do not require a "God" to tell me how I need to live to be a good person.
(ME)Without believing in God, I plan to run a free two times a week meal for homeless people(group of Christians)people like the salvation army (I would know I used to work for them)the generals and ranking officers get million dollor homes FREE of charge AND a 10 GRAND allowance because the Salvation army relocates them every three yearsdo you know how much of that money goes towards anything?NONETell me...which acts like a better person? The objective truth?I don't believe in God because I don't believe he exists. Can it be more simple then that?if that makes me irrational then I don't think we have the same definition of that word
Theist: 1) Hebrews wrote Genesis, and it is not even an option to have a creation metaphor, based on the grammer and nature of the text. 2) Something is impossible because you have never observed it (fetus argument you made)? Have you observed all things at all times and everywhere at once? No, so how do you make a universal judgement like you have? That is irrationality at its best, it just proves the point, Christianity is the only system of belief that makes any sense. You rationally use things such as logic and reason but you irrationally account for their origins or, you cannot prove that they exist, so... you borrow something from a christian wordview, that namely of logic and reason.
You cannot account for both of these in your wordview, they exist, therefore they must always have existed. Right, well, prove to me they exist? You will say "Its only by reason we know reason exists, its by logic we know logic exists you fool!" You are only begging the question. So, like I said, you rationally use things such as logic and reason but you irrationaly explain them, or apply them, so you destroy knowledge.
3) You don't need God because you have a backbone? You rely on God in everything, in your reasoning, in your logic, in your very existence! It's like us arguing about whether or not air exists. We could argue all day but it doesnt really matter, because it does exist and God does exist.
4) You appeal to your personal merit, that in your own words, is only good subject to your personal conception of right and wrong. So your argument is wrong on three levels, 1) Using your wordview it may only be right for you and not anyone else. 2) In actuality morallity is universal, this is known by observation, that is, observation predicated on God's word. 3) We are arguing for the philosophical systems of our seperate wordviews, not based on what people have done that have shared similiar views. Christians have done terrible things, so have atheists, thats not what we are arguing, we arguing ultimate truth.

Wow!! Where does one go to have conversations like this on the internet??? It's been awhile since I did live chatting (ha ha ha...awhile...more like since it was first invented!!)
Ha, well, I just found a local forum for christianity (nexopia-calgary), wanted to try out apologetics and initiated the conversation. I think, the internet is pretty limited in its usefullness, there seems to be more power in a face to face conversation. But I do believe that the internet is a good way to expand your horizans (if i can say that!). So, if you would like to try... google! Or, better yet, follow Christ in his command for the great commission in real life!
Thanks for reading (probably the only person! hah!)

I read too!
